The Bounce Back DNA (BBDNA) Movement held their My Story, His Glory “Bouncing Back from Sexual Abuse” Event on February 20, 2016 at the Shepherdstown Community Club. The keynote speaker for the event was Spenser Wempe, former Ms. West Virginia. Spenser Wempe. Spenser shared her bounce back story of overcoming rape and sexual abuse while in a relationship. With the help of her father, she was able to remove herself from the relationship, but as for most who endured any type of abuse, recovery has been ongoing.
Also speaking at the event were Anita Inman, Habibah Sulayman and Shannon Robinson, all co-authors of the Wounds Healed, Scars Revealed Anthology. Each shared their stories of being molested at a young age by someone who was trusted to care for them. These ladies now share their victorious bounce back stories on various platforms around the world. They want others to know that they too can heal, break cycles and to help others overcome.
Chains were broken and lives were changed through each powerful testimony. “My life will never be the same again,” said one of the local Job Corp student attendees. “God knew I needed this.”
